Philippines Flood Relief Project
In response to the recent flooding in the Philippines we have a donor that has contributed three containers of food and two containers of medical supplies that are ready to ship right now. All we need is the funding to cover the costs of shipping.
This is the worst flooding in the Philippines since 1973 and is being called by many, the Katrina of the Philippines. 33 barangays (Barrios or small subdivisions ) in Metro Manila and surrounding areas  were submerged and suffered severe damage.
In many places hundreds of people were forced to seek higher ground on their roof tops during the height of the storm and some of the towns not flooded by the typhoon were flooded as water was released to ease pressure on the Angat Dam.
According to SOS Children’s Villages 280 were killed as a result of the floods and mudslides and over a half of a million families have lost their homes.
Each dollar you send us will have a $10 or $20 impact in delivered relief. This summer we sent a container that was valued at $600,000 and contained two echocardiogram machines. The shipping cost was only $20,000. The impact of the contribution of shipping costs in that case was 30 to 1. Each container will have a tremendous impact on feeding and providing medical care for the almost 500,000 people that have been displaced as a result of this flooding.
PLEASE help us help those in need right now by sending us your tax deductible donation today.
