Valensi Rose Attorneys Geoffrey A. Weg and Thomas M. Giordano-Lascari Elected to Beverly Hills Bar Association Taxation Section
Los Angeles, CA – September 28, 2009 - Valensi
Rose, PLC is pleased to announce that attorneys Geoffrey A. Weg and
Thomas M. Giordano-Lascari were elected to the Executive Committee of
the Beverly Hills Bar Association Taxation Section. Mr. Weg was
elected first vice-chair and Mr. Giordano-Lascari was elected second
vice-chair of the Executive Committee. Their terms will run from
October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010.

Mr. Weg is an associate with the firm
who specializes in tax and wealth planning and tax controversy. He
earned a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M.) in taxation law from Loyola Law
School's Graduate Tax Program. Mr. Weg was also recently appointed
chair of the 2010 Income & Other Tax Committee of the California
State Bar Taxation Section.
In 2008, Mr. Weg co-authored and
presented a policy paper entitled, "Calculation of Income Inclusion
Under Section 409A When Deferred Compensation is Based on Future
Valuations or is Otherwise Not Reasonably Ascertainable," in
Washington D.C. to officials at the Treasury Department, the Internal
Revenue Service, and to the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation
and the House Ways & Means Committee.
On September 11, 2009
Mr. Weg spoke at the California State Bar Annual Conference in San
Diego. The presentation, entitled, "Tax Advice for Victims of
Investment Fraud," focused on recent IRS rulings advising taxpayers
how to treat losses from fraudulent arrangements, such as the Bernie
Madoff Ponzi scheme. Mr. Giordano-Lascari helped to prepare the
presentation.
Mr. Giordano-Lascari is an associate at Valensi
Rose who specializes in tax and wealth planning and tax controversy.

and to staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation and the House Ways
& Means Committee. Mr. Giordano-Lascari has also authored numerous
articles sent to clients on recent tax developments.
