Free Party At Borders Tonight May 8th Provided By PartyCharlie
With a name like “PartyCharlie” and the reputation for throwing great parties that goes back over 30 years, we know that May the 8th’s party at Borders in Century City is a must attend event. Charlie will have a tarot card reader, numerologist, astrologist and magician at the party. Charlie has a hosted bar with Level Vodka, Ashi Beer, Remmy Pannier Marquis de La Tour Champaign and winning entertainment by Franki Love, Jason Farnham, David Williams. All of these ingredients are incredible ingredients that will make this night special and are reason enough for you to attend.
But the reason you really want to be at this party is that Party Charlie will be unveiling his new book, “Party Planning Secrets.” The book contains all of the information you need to throw your own “must attend” events. Party Charlie will be talking about the 5 steps to planning a successful party.

PartyCharlie’s 5 Steps
1. Tempt your guests with an exciting invitation.
2. Greet your guests with a high-energy welcome.
3. Entice your guests with a festive ambiance.
4. Involve your guests by giving them something to do.
5. Serve your guests fabulous food and beverages.

Think about some of the parties you’ve attended in the past. Were some just a gathering of people, while others seemed to have a life of their own? Events with just the right amount of energy don’t happen by chance. Instead, they are created by the host and it is much easier than you think. Charlie’s book will eliminate the stress associated with planning a party. You will enjoy the process, lift your guests’ spirits and watch the magic happen.

Charlie walks you though every detail for planning a successful party from ambiance to vendors, including how to create the perfect invitation, menu and theme, plus expert advice on budgeting, entertaining, safety and more.
“Charlie’s Five Steps make it clear how to create the energy for any party or celebration and making it a success.” Stephen McPherson, President, ABC Entertainment.

“Charlie has planned and catered fantastic parties for me, my clients and friends for over 20 years. This book is a must for any party giver. So glad he is finally sharing his knowledge with the world.” Marc Gurvitz, President, Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

In today’s hectic world, we need to take advantage of every excuse to get together and have a party. Modern technology has made it easier to communicate since we can deal with more people and do it in less time. However, technology is also keeping us apart. With cell phones, text messages and emails, we seem to have forgotten about the good old-fashioned handshake and hug. Parties bring us together giving us the opportunity for actual human contact; something we are sadly missing these days. When we celebrate during any type of party, we rejoice, have a good time, and make merry. Additionally, celebrations help us to release positive energy, fill emotional gaps and bring communities together. Best of all, when you’re at a good party, you get to share the best of yourself, increase your health and restore your well-being. It is a fact that happier people are healthier people. So do yourself a favor and start planning your next party!

Quoting the old Chinese Proverb, “Give a person a party and he or she parties for a night. Teach a person to party and he or she parties for a lifetime.” Once in a while a person comes along that can change your life and on May the 8th Party Charlie might just be that person.

Eden Alperts Vibrato

Eden Alpert is at the top of her game. She is a partner in one of the few landmark restaurants in Los Angeles. When you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can take a short drive up the hill where the restaurant sits nestled in the lush area of Beverly Glen.

This is a restaurant that has only been open since 2004 but it is a restaurant that really has chops. By chops, we don’t mean the veal chop that is on the menu…we mean the type of chops that are earned over a lifetime of having done something – and having done it well. Eden spent seven years working for Rondor International Music where she was able to utilize her lifetime of growing up listening to and loving music. She decided to learn the restaurant business and went to California Pizza Kitchen. But four years ago she embarked upon an amazing adventure with Vibrato where she is currently a partner.

Vibrato is the bomb – and when you want a restaurant where you can hear Jazz – there is no equal. Charlie Scola aka “Party Charlie” and I recently visited the restaurant and this is what we found:

The website promises distinct, impeccably fresh and deliciously satisfying tastes and they delivered. We began with the Orange, Date & Arugula Salad with Marcona Almonds, Shaved Parmesan, with a Balsamic Vinaigrette. This is not a salad that was tossed – this is a salad that was composed with just the right amount of dressing and a decadent presentation. I had the Roasted Jidori Chicken with Israeli Couscous, Fava Beans, Hon-Shemeji Mushrooms & Rosmary Jus was a medley of flavors that melted in my mouth. Charlie had the Pan Seared Scallops with Fava bean puree and wild mushrooms drizzled huckleberry glaze, he asked that the Scallops be cooked a certain way and when they arrived they were cooked to perfection.

We shared a side of Grilled Brocolini with shaved reggiano which was a very nice treat.

The lighting was illuminating but not obtrusive and the sound was bold but not overbearing. There was clearly a lot of attention to detail in the design and construction of this Los Angeles Landmark.

The night we were there Tom Garvin and Chris Colangelo played to a continuous round of applause. What would you expect from a restaurant called Vibrato…the vibrations are smooth and calm and the restaurant runs like a finely tuned instrument.

Eden was the perfect restaurateur as she came by and sat with us for a few moments making the running of the restaurant seem so effortless even though we know how hard it is to have excellent food, service, music and milieu in perfect harmony. Even though the restaurant comes with such an incredible reputation – and our expectations were high, Eden is what makes this restaurant the neighborhood jazz club. She brings her “down to earth” personality and makes us feel at home.

I will have to think long and hard about going clubbing again in Hollywood. Every time my friends want me to meet them at some swank new club I am going to think about the good time I could be having up the hill at Vibrato.
